 FAQs

  • While what works for me might not work exactly the same for you, here are a few techniques I used to revise for my GCSEs:

    • Create a schedule - It keeps you on track and prevents you from taking too many breaks.

    • Learn the content first - Except for maths, if you don’t know the content your wasting your time on the questions. Websites like Save My Exams are great for this initial learning hurdle.

    • Revise with flashcards little but often - Spacing out your revision allows you to semi-forget content before recalling it again. This process strengthens the synaptic connections in your brain, which are responsible for your memory.

  • I recommend starting revision around Christmas, with a couple of hours each day on the weekends. That said, it’s important to balance this with your own lifestyle and commitments. Just remember-you can’t cram the night before and the more consistently you revise, the more confident and prepared you’ll feel on exam day.

  • While all your subjects are important, time is limited. If you want to take A levels or the IB, focus on those subjects first. After that, give priority to Maths and English. Remember- then focus on Maths and English. Remember—you need at least a Grade 4 in both to get into college or sixth form, but most universities look for a Grade 6 or higher

  • We’ve all been there—especially with creative subjects like English. The truth is, you’ve probably just not fully “cracked” the subject yet. Maybe it’s your exam technique, or maybe it’s the way you revise. Either way, we can help you figure it out—and once you do, you’ll see your grades start to rise.
